Campgrounds in Charleston SC

James Island County Park, a 643-acre park, is located about 15 minutes from downtown Charleston. The park has miles of paved trails, Splash Zone Water Park, 16 acres of fishing lakes, a tidal creek fishing and crabbing dock, pedal boats and kayak rentals.

The Charleston KOA, located about 25 minutes from downtown Charleston, is full of Lowcountry charm. The campground offers amenities including pool, snack bar, WiFi, cable TV, and dog park. 

The Mt Pleasant KOA, located about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston, is located on the grounds of an antebellum plantation. Guests can enjoy the 1.5-mile nature trail, fish in the 30-acre lake, play mini golf, and enjoy a free wagon tour of the Oakland Plantation. 

Oak Plantation Campground, located about 25 minutes from downtown Charleston, has been family owned and operated for over 40 years. The campground has 200 sites and offers amenities including WiFi, cable TV, modern bathhouses, and an outdoor pool. 

Edisto Beach State Park, located about an hour drive from downtown Charleston, offers one campground on the beach and one deep in the maritime forest. Visitors can walk or bike ride on the paved trails, swim in the ocean or visit the learning center. 

Lake Aire RV Park, located 15 minutes from historic downtown Charleston, has 87 level campsites on 35 acres of land. Amenities include large catch and release lakes, sewer sites, picnic tables, fire rings, laundry facilities, and free WiFi. 

Buck Hall Recreation area, located on the site of the Buck Hall Plantation, is about 35 minutes from historic downtown Charleston. This popular facility offers activities including biking, birding, fishing, shrimping. Amenities include electric hook-ups, dump station, showers, and grills.
