MMF will conduct interactive Dolphin Doctor: On the Front Lines of Marine Mammal Medicine workshops for SEWE participants. This program focuses on marine mammal medicine, science, and technology, and applications to the conservation of marine mammals worldwide. Hands-on educational activities can be adapted for all ages, including mock wild dolphin health checks with inflatable dolphins; ultrasound demonstrations featuring real examples of baby dolphin, lung, and cardiac images from those impacted by oil spills; satellite tag tracking of animals; crossbow dart sampling; and entanglement examples.

Join Garden & Gun editor in chief David DiBenedetto and Durrell Smith, a Georgia-based wingshooter, podcaster, and co-founder of the Minority Outdoor Alliance—an organization that encourages individuals of all backgrounds and ethnicities to pursue outdoor activities—for a spirited conversation about gun dogs and bird hunting. A 2021 winner of Outsider magazine’s Breaking Barriers Award, Smith will also share more about his nonprofit’s efforts to make hunting and fishing more inclusive. This event is hosted at the G&G offices in Charleston’s historic Cigar Factory and paired with creative cocktails and good company.

The Wildrose British Labrador demonstration pack with the professionals of canine nutrition, Purina ProPlan, will be featured at the Southeastern Wildlife Expo.
Sporting dog demonstrations will be feature our unique, balanced training techniques for upland and waterfowl gundogs as well as adventure companions. Enjoy personal interactions with the Labradors, the trainers, and the ProPlan team throughout the day, all on hand to answer questions and provide tips.

National Marine Mammal Foundation Dolphin Doctor Hands-On Workshop Experience

The NMMF will showcase three short films featuring NMMF-led conservation stories at the Gaillard Center during SEWE weekend. These showings will include a panel discussion and Q&A featuring NMMF scientists and veterinarians.

DockDogs® Finals

SEWE is proud to host one of the nation’s most popular DockDogs® events. Watch dogs of all kinds and skill levels compete in various water jumping competitions. “Waves” of competition held throughout the day Friday through Sunday, with finals Sunday afternoon.
